Big Cedar Lake Property Owners Association
The Property Owners Association (POA) has roughly 20 directors, each representing the property owners in their neighborhood. There is annual meeting for all members each June. In addition, the directors meet roughly 3 times a year. See the POA website for additional information.

Boating Regulations
Speed Limits In Traffic Lanes
- No person shall operate a boat or aquaplane faster than prescribed speed limits between the following hours
Monday through Friday
- 8:00 a.m. to the earlier of 8:00 p.m. or sunset - 35 mph Maximum
- 8:00 p.m. to the earlier of 8:00 a.m. or sunset - 10 mph Maximum
Saturday, Sunday & Holidays
- 8:00 a.m. to the earlier of 6:00 p.m. or sunset - 35 mph Maximum
- 6:00 p.m. to the earlier of 8:00 a.m. or sunset - 10 mph Maximum
Water Skiing Regulations
- No person shall operate a boat for the purpose of towing a water skier, aquaplane or similar device, or engage in water skiing or aquaplane between the following hours:
*** Monday through Friday 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 a.m.
*** Saturday, Sunday & Holidays 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Number of Towed Skiers
Monday through Friday
- No motorboat operator shall tow more than TWO water skiers nor shall any water skier allow himself/herself to be towed by any motorboat already towing TWO water skiers.
- No person shall water ski in any marked fish spawning area
Saturday, Sunday & Holidays
- No motorboat operator shall tow more than ONE water skier nor shall any water skier allow himself/herself to be towed by any motorboat already towing ONE water skier.
- No person shall water ski in any marked fish spawning area.
Swimming Regulations
- No person shall swim in the water traffic lane unless he is accompanied by a manned boat for each swimmer.
- No person shall swim in the water traffic lane unless the accompanying boat is properly lighted and no person shall skin dive in any marked fish spawning area.
Personal Watercraft (PWC) Operation
- Operators must respect the slow-no-wake within 200 feet of shore.
- Operators under 16 years of age must have an adult on board and boaters certification.
- No operation in Gilbert Lake or its channel without a permit.
All Motorized Watercraft Operations
- Operators must respect the slow-no-wake outside water traffic lanes, in marked weed bed areas and in Gilbert Lake and its channel.
- No repeated operations in a tight circuitous course, or prolonged repetitive manner in the same area of the lake.
